Pinkerton Farms was founded in West Point, MS in the 1930's by Valcus Elias Pinkerton and his family.
He, his son and grandson ( James Wiley Pinkerton Sr. and James Wiley Pinkerton Jr.) used the farm primarily as a dairy operation until the 1970s. Largely spearheaded by James W. Pinkerton Jr. (Jay), Pinkerton Farms turned to grower cattle, row crop and hay forage operations in the 1980s.
Fast forward to the present, Pinkerton Farms has been brought from humble beginnings by the efforts of four generations of Pinkertons. The Farm overcame tremendous erosion and inefficient practices by Jay Pinkerton, who turned the property into a fine example of Mississippi Black Prairie real estate.
Sadly, on September, 27th 2020, Pinkerton Farms lost its greatest asset with the unexpected death of James Wiley Pinkerton Jr.
The farm continues operations with his son William and grandson Avery
We will continue on maintaining the legacy of Jay Pinkerton as closely as possible.
